On March 9th, 2021, Arthur Wade Leavitt was welcomed back to his heavenly home after a long-suffering battle with Lewy Body dementia and Coronavirus. Wade was a proud Las Vegas native who was born to his loving parents, Bert and Joyce Leavitt, on August 3rd, 1962. The youngest of six siblings, Wade was beloved by his family and was raised in a loving household. He spent many summers in the Bay Area and would fondly recall his time spent with family members there along with his love for the San Francisco Giants baseball team.
Together with his brother Rod, Wade owned and managed Leavitt Insurance Agency for more than 25 years. He mentored and influenced countless people in his professional life and leaves an incalculable legacy in the Las Vegas community. His passions included playing golf, attending UNLV basketball games, and traveling with his family. Wade was also an avid shoe collector and had a whole room in his house dedicated to Nike and Air Jordan sneakers. Amongst all of his hobbies, Wade took great pleasure in being a good husband and father. Some of his family's favorite memories of him were their summer trips to Oceanside, CA. Wade loved spending the day at the beach, especially when he was able to watch the sun set and "sizzle" into the ocean.
His family and friends would tell you that Wade always "woke up happy." You'd find him awake at the early hours of the morning reading the newspaper and humming along with the sounds of the birds. Wade had an energy and sense of optimism that was infectious to all around him. It was difficult to be in a bad mood around him, as he always knew how to cheer anyone up.
Wade made a insurmountable contribution to the Nevada Independent Insurance Industry and will be missed.
Respectfully,
